FERRARI 458 REVIEWS


The “A” in the new Ferrari 458 Speciale A’s name doesn’t stand for “awesome,” but it could. The “A” actually is for Aperta, the Italian word for “open.” Based, of course, on the 458 Italia, this version of the 458 Spider gets the same special upgrades as the transcendent Speciale coupe.

That means 597 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque from the naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V-8—it hasn’t gone turbocharged yet—making it the most powerful spider ever to emerge from Maranello. The power increase comes courtesy of a 14:1 compression ratio, a new manifold and airbox rendered from carbon fiber, higher lift for both the intake and exhaust valves, new pistons, and reworked intake runners and ports. The gearbox is a revised seven-speed dual-clutch automatic with shifts so quick that they could bend both space and time.

The Speciale A sports an aluminum lid that retracts or raises in just 14 seconds; the price paid for the deployable roof is 110 additional pounds to cart around. Even so, Ferrari estimates that the car will rocket to 62 mph in three seconds flat, but we’d likely be able to break into the twos in a 0-to-60 run with our equipment aboard.

Other carry-overs ported from the fixed-top Speciale include Side Slip Angle Control, the lines of code for which were developed in part for the LaFerrari mega-ultra-hypercar. It aims to measure the car’s slip angle in real time, then adjust the electronic rear differential and stability control based on what it determines to be the optimum slip angle. The A also gets the 458 Speciale’s advanced aerodynamic features, including a flap ahead of the front fascia’s Ferrari logo that sends air under the car to create more rear downforce at high speeds. Spring-loaded doors up front open above 105 mph to divert air from the radiators and through vanes at the corners of the car. The regular Spider’s three-tip central exhaust becomes a pair of wider-set cannons to accommodate a big rear diffuser and a motor-actuated drag-reduction setup that drop from the underside of the rear end to help achieve Vmax. The coupe can hit 202 mph; no figure has been released yet for the A.

Modif Simple Hummer

Originally, the Hummer is a vehicle built as a military vehicle. But over time and changes in trends in the world automotive industry, the vehicles produced by General Motors was then converted into an SUV. VW XL Sport High Performance



Just over one year ago, we reported on rumors that Volkswagen was pairing with its then-new corporate cousin, Italian motorcycle maker Ducati, to build a high-performance version of the XL1, a vehicle that we (actually, I) said would be a "firecracker," thanks to its super-low curb weight, slippery aerodynamics and alleged 190-horsepower engine. Now, only slightly late for its rumored Geneva Motor Show debut, VW is trotting out the so-called XL Sport to the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

Total output has jumped to 197 horsepower, thanks to the presence of a Ducati 1199 Superleggera V-twin, which has been mated up to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In addition to screaming its way to 11,000 rpm, the two-cylinder engine will help the XL Sport zip to 62 miles per hour in a brisk 5.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 168 miles per hour.


That's a lofty speed for a 200-horsepower vehicle, and it wouldn't be possible without VW's obsessive streamlining of the XL Sport's body. Featuring a 0.258 coefficient of drag, it's not as efficient as the standard XL1's 0.189, thanks to the presence of wider tires, increased downforce and additional cooling ducts. Still, the XL is sleek enough for VW to claim the title of most aerodynamic sports car.

A pushrod rear suspension and forged magnesium wheels are just a few of the race-minded items underpinning the XL Sport, indicating that on top of being a quick little scamp, it should prove a capable dancer.

While Volkswagen is planning on building 250 XL1s, at this point there's no indication that the XL Sport will be sold to the public. We're guessing that question could depend on the public's reaction to the unique sportster when it makes its debut in the coming days at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

Wolfsburg / Paris, October 2014 -There has never been a sports car like the XL Sport concept that is being shown for the first time by Volkswagen at the Paris Motor Show. This is a car that uncompromisingly furthers the development of the lightweight sports car. Based on the XL1, the most fuel-efficient production car of all time, this 168-mph machine is a compelling blend of efficiency and emotion.

The XL Sport houses one of the finest achievements in engine technology-the V-Twin adapted from the new Ducati 1199 Superleggera, the world's most powerful two-cylinder motorcycle. Like the XL1, of which only 250 will be built, the Superleggera is also being manufactured in a limited edition of 500 units, using a process that embraces hand fabrication and high-precision industrial manufacturing. The XL1 and the Superleggera, two icons of lightweight carbon and magnesium design technology, thus unite to create a unique sports car. With the XL Sport, Volkswagen and Ducati impressively demonstrate how high-tech developments can lead to synergies between Volkswagen Group brands.

Pioneering aerodynamics. The Ducati 1199 Superleggera has the best power-to-weight ratio of any production motorcycle in history. In the car world, the XL Sport achieves a similar record-the best ratio between weight (1962 pounds), power (147 kW/197 hp) and aerodynamics (CdA of 0.44 square meters). It's a combination that allows the car to reach an impressive top speed of 168 mph on just 197 hp.

The vehicle's aerodynamics are one key reason the car performs so well. The coefficient of drag (Cd) of 0.258 and the low frontal area of 1.7 sq m combine to give a CdA of 0.44 sq m, one of the best values ever achieved and a major triumph for Volkswagen's aerodynamicists and designers. The achievement is made all the more impressive due to the fact that the concept's performance-car design brief demanded wide tires, apertures for cooling air, and optimal downforce.

There are a number of individual features that contribute to the XL Sport's arrow-like performance, in addition to the uncompromising styling. These include special vanes that direct the air at the front into specific channels, wheelarch vents, an optimized underbody, lift-reducing air ducts in the hood, an extendable rear spoiler (powered by the same unit as in the Lamborghini Aventador), and adaptive air vents incorporated in the rear hatch.

The world's most powerful two-cylinder engine. The Ducati 1199 Superleggera's V-Twin engine was slightly modified for use in the XL Sport, but is basically the same as the motorcycle's. Thanks to its tough, lightweight titanium connecting rods, the 1199 cc double-overhead-camshaft engine can rev up to 11,000 rpm. The Superquadro's high speeds are made possible by its extreme bore/stroke ratio of 112 mm by 60.8 mm and the exceptionally short crankshaft stroke associated with it.

In addition, the two four-valve cylinders, which are arranged at an angle of 90 degrees to each other, feature desmodromic valve control (positive valve closure) that is typical of the high-revving Ducati engines and requires the finest of precision engineering to ensure optimum valve clearance. Other features of the world's most powerful two-cylinder engine are the use of magnesium-alloy for the clutch, cylinder head, and oil pan covers, the two throttle valve discs, and the two fuel injectors per cylinder. Last but by no means least, the XL Sport has a newly developed step-down transmission to reduce engine speeds by a factor of 1.86. Torque from the V-Twin engine (99 pound-feet) is transmitted to the rear axle via a seven-speed DSG® dual-clutch automatic transmission. From a standing start, the XL Sport takes 5.7 seconds to reach 62 mph.

Racing chassis. The significantly redesigned chassis, high-revving engine, and aerodynamic performance firmly plant the XL Sport in the racing realm. The chassis incorporates high-strength steel subframes which house upper and lower control arms at the front with pullrod actuation for the dampers, while the control arms at the back have pushrods-similar to the layout for a racing car. The forged magnesium-alloy wheels, which save 53 pounds compared to aluminum-alloy rims, are fitted with 205/40 R18 front and 265/35 R18 rear high-performance tires. The XL Sport has a powerful ceramic brake disc setup.

CFRP body. Because the XL Sport is a sister model to the XL1, it shares the same basic design. Like the XL1, the central monocoque and most of the body panels are manufactured in carbonfiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) using the RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) process. The monocoque features slightly offset seats for the driver and passenger.

The wing doors of the XL1 and XL Sport are reminiscent of a high-end sports car's. They are hinged at two points: low on the A-pillars and just above the windshield in the roof frame, so they swivel upwards and slightly forwards as well. The doors also extend far into the roof, giving an exceptionally large amount of entry and exit space. In order to keep the weight as low as possible, the windows are made from polycarbonate and are fixed in place: just a segment of the lower area of the side windows can be opened.

Compelling proportions. Despite sharing its underlying design with the XL1, the XL Sport has a look of its own. The reason for this is that the XL1 was designed for ultimate fuel efficiency, whereas the XL Sport's design brief included uncompromising driving dynamics. The XL Sport is longer and wider than the XL1 because of the need for additional downforce on a 168-mph car and because of the packaging requirements of the chassis and powertrain. The XL Sport showcased in Paris is 168.9 inches long (versus 153.1 in for the XL1), 72.7 in wide (65.5 in), and 45.4 in mm high (45.4 in). The wheelbase has also been increased to 95.4 in, up from : 87.6 in.

Design concept. As outlined above, the concept car builds on the dynamic and expressive design of the XL1. The surfaces have an even more muscular appearance as they extend over the significantly broader fenders and the large wheels.

The XL Sport's broad front section is marked out by dual LED headlights and the XL1's signature LED daytime running lights. The XL Sport features air intakes on either side of the headlights for the vanes which feed the air around the car's front end. In common with the XL1, the front section of the XL Sport does not have a conventional radiator grille, yet it retains the current Volkswagen design DNA, with horizontal lines dominating this area. The cooling air supply for the Ducati engine is via vents in the rear fenders.

Whereas the XL1 is at its widest at the front and tapers towards the rear, the XL Sport is just as wide at the back as at the front. From above, the shape is that of a classic racing car, with a waisted cockpit area. Air intakes and outlets at the A- and B-posts ensure optimal air flow and cooling for the drive unit. Like the XL1, there are no conventional door mirrors: instead, they are replaced by e-Mirrors, small streamlined cameras integrated in the fenders that send images of the surroundings behind the car to two displays inside the vehicle. In front of the rear wheelarches, the 'Motore Ducati' lettering refers to the 1199 Superleggera engine in the rear.

At the rear, the new XL Sport has four specific eye catching features. First, the extremely wide, flat rear has distinctive "shoulders" above the wheels and an extendable rear spoiler that occupies almost the full width. Second, as with the XL1, there is a coupe-shaped roofline without a rear windshield. The rear hatch that merges into the roofline conceals the Ducati engine, the seven-speed DSG transmission and 3.8 cubic feet of luggage space, and incorporates five louvers that open automatically to cool the drive unit. Third, the iconic red LED ribbon follows the shape of the rear section and is framed at the sides by another, vertical, LED element which serves to emphasize the XL Sport's width. Fourth, there is a black diffuser that merges almost seamlessly into the completely enclosed underbody and is finished at each side with a chrome exhaust tip.

Interior design. The interior of the XL Sport is based on the XL1's, but has been modified and individualized to conform with the change in the vehicle's mission. For example, the XL Sport boasts a digital instrument cluster that includes a lap timer and oil pressure display. A carbonfiber cowl extends across the top of the instrument cluster to completely eliminate reflections. The XL Sport's steering wheel has decorative red stitching and has been equipped with aluminum-alloy shift paddles to facilitate ultra-quick gear shifts. There are further classy details to add a sporty touch, with anodized aluminum accents around the air vents, the climate control fascia and the DSG shift gate. The seat belts are red, picking up on the theme of the contrasting red stitching on the steering wheel.

Impressiv Suv Chevrolet Nivia




After yesterday announced teaser Small SUV Chevrolet Niva, this time finally figure Niva is clearly revealed. Developed by General Motors cars Russia will be the successor of the Lada Niva and will be marketed in 2016.

Honestly, Chevorlet Niva is the most macho Small SUV we've ever seen, even when compared to the Jeep Renegade though, this car is much more sturdy. Equipment that is usually attached to the true off-roader also appear in this car, for example, just look at the tow hook which is perched on the front bumper and headlamp sipitnya protected black trellis. The more manly again with snorkel mounted on the A pillar to the left, like a true wilderness explorer.



The roof of the car is also equipped with a bathtub railings and additional spotlight, useful when we do adventure with this car in a dark atmosphere to provide extra lighting. In hindsight we also will find the spare tire models bun without lid, stop lamp that caged trellis and a pair of tow car seat that was left exposed to yellow. The use of color Black Matte and BF Goodrich tires offrad is a combination of the right to strengthen the strong impression of this car.


Niva will be paired with a 135 HP 1.8-liter engine developed by PSA Peugeot-Citroen.

Range Rover Evoque


The 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque may be the best-looking compact crossover utility around. The British call them "soft-roaders," but the Evoque pairs beauty with brains to make a surprisingly sensible vehicle that packs a lot of space into a small footprint. It's still a luxury vehicle, so it doesn't compete on value with the volume crossovers from bigger brands.

But while there are a growing number of coupe-styled crossovers entering the market--the latest is the BMW X4, joining the Infiniti QX70 (nee FX)--the Evoque interprets its role with suave grace and quiet confidence. After you've spent some time living with it, the notion that it might compare to something like the cartoonish MINI Cooper Paceman recedes into the rear-view mirror.

Now in its third year, the Evoque gets a mechanical upgrade for 2014. A new nine-speed automatic transmission reaches the range, offering smoother shifts and closer ratios. The result is a slight but noticeable improvement to gas mileage, from last year's 20 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined to this year's ratings of 24 mpg combined (21 mpg city, 30 mpg highway). In everyday driving, the difference isn't hugely perceptible, though it does smooth out some of the coarseness we had previously observed in the Evoque's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

That turbo-four engine rates 240 horsepower, and is well-suited to the Evoque's size and nature. The turbocharged nature means plenty of torque, giving the Evoque a peppy, punchy feel. Since the Evoque is relatively small and light, it even manages to come off as nimble, too. The combination makes for a more car-like driving experience than you'll find in the rest of the crossover-coupe world.

Also new for the 2014 model year is the Active Driveline system, with active differentials and torque vectoring, which is equipped standard in all models. The new system aims to reduce drag on the drivetrain by de-coupling the four-wheel-drive system automatically at speeds above 22 mph, then re-enabling it within 300 milliseconds whenever it's needed. Active Torque Biasing and Torque Vectoring also aim to improve traction and distribution of torque to the optimal wheel in low-grip conditions or in performance driving scenarios.

New Machine for Mercedez AMG v8 Twin Turbo


Mercedes-Benz and AMG have recently announced details of their latest machines, namely 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo that will be attached to the Mercedes-AMG GT which will be launched next month.

4.0L V8 engine codenamed M178 code is in compliance with Euro 6 and weighs only 209 kg. The 3982 cc engine power to 510 PS at 6,250 rpm rotation with 650 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,750 rpm.

For the sake of fuel efficiency, the Mercedes-Benz fashion complete with Start / Stop and a separate cooling system for its exhaust gas turbocharger.

Meanwhile, to minimize vibration, the engineers at Mercedes and AMG engine mounting and installing active two-mass flywheel with centrifugal pendulum to reduce torsional vibration.

Its turbocharger system has a pressure of 1.2 bar and a maximum speed limit at 186,000 rpm. Thanks in part to a TVS series 2300 (2.3-liter) supercharger that provides 14.0 psi of maximum boost, the 5.8-liter V8 is also able to crank out no less than 631 lb-ft of torque. How does the GT500 manage its traction problem?
Of course, when a vehicle sends 600 horsepower to the pavement through just two wheels, traction management becomes a serious concern, and Ford has dealt with the situation by adding more than just new gearing. As with the rest of the Mustang lineup the GT500 recently gains updated HID headlights along with LED taillights, a blacked-out license-plate surround and body-colored rocker panel extensions. Unique to the GT500 are quad exhaust pipes and two new wheel designs.
The interior continues to utilize a sporty dual-cowl dashboard design, vintage-inspired gauges and an oversized three-spoke steering wheel. Model-specific touches include Cobra badges, a cue ball shifter and "racing stripe" seat trim. Unfortunately, the GT500 features the same abundance of hard, dark plastics as the rest of the Mustang lineup, which feel out of place given the price tag.

The GT500 is fitted as standard with leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with Alcantara trim, brushed aluminum interior trim, a 500-watt Shaker audio system with SiriusXM satellite radio and an AUX input jack, HID headlights and LED foglights.
